MUMBAI BLASTS - Celebrating the resilient spirit of India!

Another disgraceful assault on the countries financial capital, bloods of innocents shed. But the citizens had some consoling speech from the inspirational ministers. This will make the souls of the victims rest in pieces…uh…I mean peace. Did someone say that there are more people dying from lightening strike than terrorism? Like Mr Chidambaram says, it is a blast in Mumbai after a gap of 31 months. Government has kept the people safe for such a long duration is actually an intelligence success, not failure. That really comforts me; since the most eligible bachelor…err…PM has already said that it is impossible to stop terrorist attacks. Should I say thank you? What is also impossible to stop is giving people like Advani and Arun Jaitely the chance to promote themselves in their otherwise silent era.

But amidst all the sad events there is some good news. Our Intelligence, within such short time, has already identified the attackers. They are an “organized group of terrorists” and “all hostile groups are suspects”. Big deal! And what is more reassuring is that our beloved Prime Minister and the Maharashtra government, along with many other poignant politicians, have strongly “condemned the attack”. Well, they had to say something. Thank you again.

Our finance minister also shares "the pain and agony of those affected by the Mumbai blasts." He has gone to the extent to say that he is “fully confident that our economy and markets will rise above this incident and continue to show robust growth." At least our pockets are safe. The "indomitable spirit of Mumbai, the financial capital of India, as always in the past, would once again respond with courage and renewed vigour to such challenges."

Mumbai will show the world that these blasts are failure. The resilient Mumbaikars will still go on with their daily life unafraid, unaffected, as if nothing has happened. The trains will still be crowded, the offices will still be open... and soon the incident will get erased from our memory.

Just a question though, how long can these poor people survive without going to work, without boarding the trains, without going to crowded places? Does our empty pocket, that feeds people like Kasab, give us the luxury to grief? Is our growing GDP (along with our growing inequality) more important than peoples life? How safe will India be in the hands of a person who is confident that he cannot stop all terrorist attacks? But those questions are irrelevant.. You are supposed to be silent about them. Let’s celebrate the re-SILENT spirit of India.

P.S. 26th August 2011 is a FRIDAY!

  1. Well said....Lets celebrate and wait for another attack to take place because govt can not do their job of protecting people in their own country and dying viciously in these blasts....I'm surprised why none of the politicians ever become part of these horrible activities.....oooops I meant accidents. Atleast a little corruption will reduce. but yes, lets be quite and watch the drama

  2. It's a pity that people play politics with these attacks in our country. On one side we have our lame-duck PM saying he will do anything he takes to avoid repeat- howe many times have we heard it from him?- shameless is he? and on the other side we have budda Advani trying to score a goal by directly attacking govt. I think we're getting bored of these attacks and those pointless promises.

  4. Venerated top notch politicians have done PhD in " Giving comments " every now and then and they have become expert at it..
Very good example is what Rahul Gandhi commented..
"We will stop 99% of attacks, but 1% of attacks might get through"-
Rahul Gandhi.. Don't u think this statement is very absurd....
Rather he should have said opposite
"We will stop 1% of attacks, but 99% of attacks will get through" :D

    Mumbai
will show the world that these blasts are failure. The resilient
Mumbaikars will still go on with their daily life unafraid, unaffected. I guess we have become  insensitive... news like this no longer stops us from doing our regular works. Like we say... we < move on> ..

  6. 1) We have Mr. 'Mum' Mohan Singh as the PM of our country who 'confesses' that he is not a lame duck PM.
    2) We have Mr. Chidamram who would like to keep a terrorist safe than an Indian. All our ministers have good potential candidates posted as their body guards, well-built pot bellied ones are raiding bars and discos. And we know how are other people who are supposed to provide security.
    3) Ah. RG.he always has his foot in his mouth. He is fit for nothing. that is why I say,he can only become PM.

Nobody is bothered about addressing the root cause, even if they find out, they would probably not punish the guilty. We are secular nation you see. Uhh!

I really want that go-getter attitude from our country. We ape everything from the west, why can't we hunt down those criminals like Obama did for Osama. Waiting for that day.

Last but not the least. If it was really Kasab's birthday on wednesdat. He did have a 'blast'!

  7. it is possible for any soul to bounce back into happy prime,,,the question is 'how many times for the same devil?'...but then as you said, the people who steer the ship of our country are  quite good with sugar coated words!
    nice commentary.

  10. he did have a blast...so did the opposition leaders for getting a chance to promote themselves...and our spineless government got a chance to divert peoples mind from corruption...

  11. yea...and it is easy to say each time...over and over again...

    ReplyDelete
  12. yea...we move on...do we really have any other options? at 99% there has to be an attack prevented almost every 3rd day...we do not hear terrorists caught, or bombs diffused that often!

  13. its indeed a very vulnerable place...fear is something people of Mumbai are getting used to...

  14. we indeed are....bored to death...

DUDE, THE POINT IS, WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE CAN SHOUT AND SCREAM IN OUR BLOGS, MERCILESSLY EXPRESS ANGER ON SOCIAL NETWORKING PLATFORMS BUT WHAT MORE CAN WE DO? NOTHING! WE'RE SLAVES OF THE RICH AND THE POWERFUL. WE ARE DESTINED TO LIVE AND DIE WITHOUT CONTRIBUTING TO ANY EFFECTIVE CHANGE.

  21. can some one make T N Seshan our President? He was the one who made the people realize the power of an election commissioner. We need some one like him to make us realize that we DO have a post called the President!

  24. Your post has raised some important questions. Govt is too busy trying to complete it's term with 2G scam, Lokpal bill Commonwealth games scam thay they do not have time to tackle the terror problem in India. Today it is  Mumbai tomorrow it can be Banglore, Delhi...common man has to pick up the pieces and go thru the daily grind

Both India & Russia are bleeding because  both have considerable number of Muslims as 'citizens'.
